Reaching the TEI of Athens from the Athens International Airport  

By metro (option 1)

The Athens center is accessible by suburban railway and metro (see Map 1) from Athens International airport El. Venizelos.

In order to reach the TEI of Athens you can:

  • use Suburban Railway (Proastiakos) from “Athens International Airport” to  “Doukissis Plakentias” (black line) and take Metro Line 3 (blue line) from “Doukissis Plakentias” to “Egaleo”. From the Egaleo metro station to the TEI of Athens you could either take Bus Line 829or walk for 2.0 km (see Map 2).
  • or, take Metro Line 3 (blue line) from “Athens International Airport” to “Egaleo”, and then Bus Line 829or walk for 2.0 km (see Map 2).

The journey time from Athens International Airport to Egaleo is approximately 45min.

From airport

Single fare – 8€
Return ticket (within 48 hours) – 14€
Single fare for 2 persons (flat ticket) -14€
Single fare for 3 persons (flat ticket) -20€

City transportation

Single ticket, valid for all transportation means (bus, trolley metro, tram) and for several routes within 1,5 hour – 1,40 €

Depending on the number of days you are to stay in Athens, you can ask for an all- day ticket for all transportation means (buses, trolley buses, metro etc.), which costs 4 Euros/person.  Similarly, there is also the weekly ticket for up to 7 days long costing about 14 Euros/person. By bus (option 2)

The following public bus route E95 Athens Airport ExpressSyntagma serving exclusively the airport takes you to Syntagma Sq., where you can take Metro Line 3 (blue line) to Egaleo. The ticket costs 5 €. It allows for unlimited travel by all transportation means (bus, trolley, metro, tram) for 24 hours from the time of its validation during first trip (validate only once). The 24-hour ticket can be purchased from the drivers of the airport buses, at all metro stations and at the blue or yellow ticket kiosks of the Athens Public Transportation Network. At the Arrivals Level, take the E95 bus (between door 5 and door 4).

By taxi (option 3)

The taxi queue starts from Exit 4 of the Arrivals Level in AIA and extend up to Exit 1. Please note that coming to TEI of Athens from the airport should cost around 25-30€.
